Iconography of Yellow Jambhala
Yellow Jambhala is renowned as the most powerful and revered Wealth Deity. He is an incarnation of Buddha Ratnasambhava and is said to be able to eliminate poverty in all six realms, augmenting longevity, wisdom, and virtue.
Lord Vaisravana is believed to be an incarnation of one of the Four Great World-protecting Heavenly Kings. He is seen as a divine being who bestows luck and protection, residing in the northern region of the fourth level of Mount Sumeru in a crystal palace.
Yellow Jambhala is described as having a yellow body and sitting in the vajra position with his right leg extended and his left leg bent. He has one face and two arms, with his left hand holding a mongoose named Nehulay that emits precious jewels from its mouth, and his right-hand gripping a gem-shaped fruit and a lotus leaf. It is said that due to his continual protection of the Buddhas, he has acquired a great deal of knowledge.
In Tibetan Tantric depictions of Lord Vaisravana, the precious pagoda is replaced by a mongoose that emits various treasures. Additionally, Yellow Jambhala is often seen seated on a lotus, sun disk, and moon disk.
