Iconography of Yellow Jambhala
Yellow Jambhala is widely recognized as the most potent and respected Deity of Wealth. He is believed to be a manifestation of Buddha Ratnasambhava and has the ability to eradicate poverty in all six realms while also enhancing longevity, wisdom, and moral goodness.
Lord Vaisravana is considered to be a manifestation of one of the Four Great Heavenly Kings responsible for safeguarding the world. He is regarded as a divine entity who grants fortune and safeguards, residing in a crystal palace located in the northern area of the fourth level of Mount Sumeru.
Yellow Jambhala is described as having a yellow body and sitting in the vajra position with his right leg extended and his left leg bent. He has one face and two arms, with his left hand holding a mongoose named Nehulay that emits precious jewels from its mouth, and his right-hand gripping a gem-shaped fruit and a lotus leaf. It is said that due to his continual protection of the Buddhas, he has acquired a great deal of knowledge.
In Tibetan Tantric depictions of Lord Vaisravana, the precious pagoda is replaced by a mongoose that emits various treasures. Additionally, Yellow Jambhala is often seen seated on a lotus, sun disk, and moon disk.
